Introduction

 
Today on the show we have the head coach of Umass Lacrosse, Greg Cannella.  Coach Cannella has been head coach at UMass for 25 seasons.  This is the second longest tenure at one school among active NCAA coaches.
 
His teams have had nine NCAA tournament appearances and eight New England Championships.  He’s been a seven-time conference coach of the year and a five-time New England Coach of the year.
 
In 2006 UMass was a National Championship finalist and he was named the 2006 USILA Coach of the Year.
 
Coach Cannella graduated from UMass.  He coached 4 years as an assistant at Stony Brook before coming back to UMass, and taking over as head coach of the Minutemen.
 
Today on the show we got a chance to talk about how he grew up as part of a lacrosse family on Long Island, how he and staff plan for upcoming seasons, how he run his practices, and much more.
